Na Dúnaibh FRS Public Information Day

A Public Information Day on the Preferred Option for Na Dúnaibh Flood Relief Scheme will take place on 11th May 2023 in Mevagh Family Resource Centre, Downings. The drop-in event will run from 4pm until 8pm.
Members of the project team (from Donegal County Council, the Office of Public Works and consultants, RPS) will be available to present the Preferred Option and to let people know how their submissions made during the first Public Consultation have been considered. This will be an opportunity for the public to view the option before it goes to the statutory planning process. Attendees can discuss the option with the project team and provide feedback. Anyone with an interest in the Flood Relief Scheme is encouraged to come along anytime between 4pm and 8pm, this is a drop in event, no appointment is necessary.
A leaflet on the Public Information Day is now available at Na Dúnaibh FRS Public Information Day Brochure. Details on the Preferred Option for the Flood Relief Scheme will also be available on the website from 11th May 2023.
Na Dúnaibh Survey Works

Topographical surveys of watercourses, adjacent lands and property thresholds of residential and commercial premises were collected in early 2021. These works provided the data needed to build an up to date computer model of the Scheme Area. Murphy Geospatial were appointed to carry out survey works in Na Dúnaibh, which included river channel, topographical and property threshold surveys that took place in January and February 2021.
Na Dúnaibh FRS Constraints Study

The Environmental Constraints Study identifies environmental constraints to be considered in Scheme development (identifying a preferred option), design and construction. Topics within the Constraints Study Report include Population and Human Health; Biodiversity; Land, Soil, Water, Air and Climate; Material Assets, Cultural Heritage and Landscape. It informed option development and the Environmental Impact Assessment for the emerging preferred scheme and includes a summary of the Opening Public Consultation held in November / December 2020.
